AU CŒUR DE MÉGANTIC

During the night of July 5/6, 2013, a train loaded with crude oil derailed and exploded into a raging inferno in downtown Lac-Mégantic, Quebec killing 47 residents. Everything had to be rebuilt in the days and years that followed, and not just the town centre, but also the lives of the many Lac-Mégantic survivors. Ten years after the derailment, actor and singer Stéphane Archambault sets out to understand how those deeply affected by the tragedy were able to get back on their feet and rekindle their zest for life. Instilled with empathy, the documentary focuses on the human side of the tragedy, and on the importance of putting the priority on the recovery of those whose lives had been shattered.
